About USATF

USA Track & Field is the national governing body for the sport of track and field. The youth outdoor national championship is one of two (2) National Championships USATF is in charge of for the outdoor season for youth amateur athletes. The meet will be the first national championship for youth track and field in Durham. The meet will feature 8-18 year old males and females from across the nation. Durham is expected to host between 3,000-6,000 athletes for the 6-day event, with 200-300 of those athletes being from the Durham area and 300-500 being from the Triangle region. The goal of the Durham Sports Commission is to execute a well ran national championship, while showcasing Durham as a top-notch destination for current and future sporting events. The meet has a formal Local Organizing Committee that is charged with the operations of the meet, while the DSC Board of Directors are fiscally responsible.
